Design, Build & Sell Scheme (DBSS)

Minister for National Development, Mr Mah Bow Tan announced several new policies in Parliament on 07 March 2005 to make the HDB experience a pleasant, memorable and rewarding one for all HDB residents.

One of these is the implementation of the Design, Build & Sell Scheme (DBSS).

This Design, Build & Sell Scheme (DBSS)involves the private sector in the development of public housing so as to bring about greater innovation in building and design and offer more housing choices. It enables public housing to be more responsive to the needs and aspirations of Singaporeans.

Flats sold under DBSS come with a 99-year lease and will be offered to buyers under similar HDB eligibility conditions like flats developed by HDB.

Upon completion of the building, the developer will hand over the entire development site to HDB for lease administration, and to the Town Council for maintenance of the common areas and car parks.

For the purchase of Design, Build & Sell Scheme (DBSS) flat, HDB provides HDB Housing Loan and Conveyancing Services to buyers. View the HDB Housing Loan & Conveyancing Services leaflet for more information.
